I help small purpose-driven businesses and entrepreneurs to double and sometimes even triple their profits in this wacky economy by designing and implementing cost-effective marketing systems.
That’s a fancy way to say that I don’t just build web sites.
I build interwoven marketing systems that include a good looking, functional, easy-to-navigate site that is designed to attract YOUR perfect customer!
And what’s more, I’ve devised a method of design that makes it easy for Internet Marketing “newbies” to maintain and revise their own websites!
Many people know me as a healer and a musician. So how did I end up in the Internet Marketing arena?
For almost a decade and a half, I owned a well-intentioned brick-and-mortar retail store in a small town. My business did a lot of good in the community, and seemed to be well-appreciated.
Yet, it failed.
Why did my business fail to make a consistent profit? I’m not placing blame here – there were many factors that led to my closing the doors.
But taking it back a few years – my conception of what my store would do and become – I can see now that I was off-track for years before the final “death gasps.”
You see, at the beginning, I had passion and $600. I opened a store front, worked my rear end off (I was the only employee), and fulfilled a need in my community.
My business was growing so much more quickly than I had expected, that I soon moved to a significantly larger space. Within 3 years, I had 4 employees and was making a decent living.
And I started attracting the attention of the big guys in town. You know, the bankers and such. When I first opened, nobody “important” was interested in a little health food store. Not even the local Chamber of Commerce (ha – funny story)!
Suddenly, I had all sorts of “professional” advice coming my way. And in spite of the market research I had done, I followed the squawking of the banks, the SBA, even the Small Business Development folks (and yes, my own EGO).
And the squawking eventually led me down a path to the destruction of all I was trying to accomplish.
It’s not so much that all these advisors were wrong so much as it was that their training was based on old paradigms, stuff that has been totally applicable in business since World War II. And yet our society and technology has changed so dramatically in the past couple of decades, we can barely recognize ourselves sometimes.
I was there, on the ground, as they say.
And I learned, mostly by the very costly trial-and-error method (I graduated from the business school at Hard Knox
) what is likely to work, and what is not. What will encourage healthy and beneficial relationships with customers, and what will drive them away.
Aware of my rising costs and falling income, part of my budget-tightening activities included learning to use the Internet, which led a to fascination with marketing techniques in general (after all, what my mainstream “experts” had recommended was very expensive, and not really very effective).
So even though my business, as it stood, was unsustainable, I was gathering knowledge, learning methods and techniques that have come in pretty handy in the long term. After closing my retail store, I was able to help several friends increase the amount of business they were doing, while at the same time, figuring out how to streamline their operations.
Increase sales and value to those all-important customers, while decreasing costs. Very cool.
Turns out, not only do I have a knack for discovering more efficient and cost-saving ways of marketing your business (and getting the wonderful gifts of the Internet to do a lot of the grunt work for you) – I also get a terrific kick out of it! (always did enjoy solving puzzles…)
I decided to use the knowledge and wisdom gained from my difficult and harrowing experience to help other small, heart-centered businesses to thrive in their own markets. Let other good folks reap the wisdom from my mistakes, and from the ideas that worked well, too.
A local business that fulfills a true need will grow and expand, creating jobs.
At least as long as it’s operating efficiently.
By serving you and your business in this way, I can help you to better serve your own clientele. More people (your customers) are brought a little closer to their own healing and wholeness, your company becomes more profitable, and I can do my own small part in rebuilding our economy and raising our “consciousness-at-large” – one entrepreneur and one customer at a time.
Now that, my friend, is VALUE.
